Grant Grafentin breaks own record to win Napa Half-Marathon

I was watching 3 of my athletes racing in the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon this morning. Wet and cold conditions didn’t stop them to set new personal records.

Triathlete Grant Grafentin (Bend, Oregon) was the very first runner to cross the finishing line. Grant won with a stellar time of 1h 10min 11sec.

Congratulation’s Meg Lentz (Bend, Oregon) and Ben Grafentin (Pleasant Hill, Ca), who challenged their physical & mental strength and endurance. Both runner’s got rewarded for their hard effort and consistent training efforts with new personal records. Meg finished in 1:36h and Ben in 1:23h. Super!!

Remember to enjoy the journey and the importance of consistent training. The training is the place where you show up to put in all the hard work. The training is the place where you will challenge yourself consistently to reach new heights. The right mix of training and recovery will make us stronger, faster and tougher. Success is like paying rent, and rent is due every day. It sounds boring but it is so true. The key to success is getting the simple things right on a consistent basis, which yield rewards and those will help to stay motivated and keep us on the right track.

Happy training everyone!
